ME

As a communication and public health specialist with more than 30-years of teaching, research, and coaching experience, I bring my diverse background to assist you in making and meeting Professional, Relational, Organizational, Personal, Educational, and Life goals to PROPEL you into the future you desire.

 

I believe we move into the future best when we build on the strengths we have gained in the past. Often this means reframing those strengths to think of them in different ways. Fundamental questions include:

 

• What from the past will help me build the future I desire?

• What is working for me in the present?

• What do I want more of in my life?

• What in my life is no longer serving me well?

• What do I want less of in my life?

 

These questions work whether I’m helping you look for a job, apply for a promotion or change your career path, improve or change your personal relationships, train your employees, build a better you, decide on college, tech school, or an area of study, or create the life you desire!

 

In addition to working from a strengths-based perspective, I bring my skills as a PSYCH-K® facilitator, mediator, and appreciative inquiry practitioner to meet your needs.

 

Ours is a collaborative relationship. I work with you at all levels of strategizing and decision making. I help you identify goals, develop priorities, and build action steps to move you forward. You choose what you want to work on (although as we work together, I will have ideas and insights as well). You are always responsible for any actions you choose to take or to avoid. You decide if you ultimately want to make the changes we identify. Your success in our work will be the result of your efforts, your situation, and your willingness to change things up. Ultimately, the power is in your hands! This is your life! These are your choices! I look forward to working with you!

 

Dr. Deborah Ballard-Reisch is a globally recognized, award-winning educator, researcher, author, mentor, and community service practitioner.

She holds a doctorate in interpersonal and public communication, a master’s degree in organizational communication, and 2 years of training in marriage and family therapy.

She specializes in family communication, health and relationships, gender issues, and organizational development and training. She has published 55+ academic articles and book chapters, edited two anthologies and three journal special issues on these topics.

 

Deborah is Professor Emerita, Wichita State University as Kansas Health Foundation Distinguished Chair in Strategic Communication and Professor, the Elliott School of Communication. She is also Professor Emerita in Public Health, University of Nevada, Reno.

 

Deborah, is a passionate partner to Andrew, mom to Stefan and Alyssa, a dedicated world traveler and global citizen, consultant, mediator, coach, and workshop facilitator.
